FREYABEYA
Raising Funds For Music In Special Needs Schools

Since FreyaBeya was launched in June 2006 we have taken all sorts of live music into several special needs schools in Oxfordshire & Wiltshire.
We have had Samba concerts and Salsa dancing, African drumming workshops, a group of saxophonists accompanied by a cello, a tap-dancing pianist (yes really) , and a trombone. All the children were given a small brightly coloured trombone to play along with the musicians for the finale, it was very noisy but great fun and the children got to take the trombone home with them.
Freya's beautiful cousin Millie sang for us at some of our school concerts, she has a truly stunning voice, we also have had light shows, we make the hall as dark as possible and then use different coloured lights to music, the children have all thoroughly enjoyed having FreyaBeya in their schools.
Alongside live music FreyaBeya has purchased an electric guitar and amplifier for Kingfisher school in Abingdon, in another school we have paid for a music therapist to work one to one with a special needs pupil for a whole year, bought a new keyboard, amplifier and microphones for a music therapist to play in our concerts at schools, with this fantastic equipment it means that FreyaBeya can provide music at very short notice.
We are in the process of putting together the FreyaBeya music boxes, these are small wooden boxes on wheels that are full of small musical instruments. The boxes are to be donated to special needs schools so that they can just wheel them out and have an instant music session.
